I've been slowly getting into Mark Mandel's Transfer recently. The problem is the last time I was testing the ORM was before the CF8 upgrade. So last night as I was playing around I got the following error message"
The problem was easy to resolve (via the mailing list), the old version doesn't work with cf8 and some changes had to be made for the Java code to run properly.
So anyone out there with CF 8 and Transfer 0.6.3RC2 will need to upgrade from the SVN which you can find at transfer.riaforge.org/

Well Chritmas is now just 24 days away and with the 1st landing on a Friday what better way to start it of than a xmas joke:
Santa Claus, like all pilots, gets regular visits from the Federal Aviation Administration, and it was shortly before Christmas when the FAA examiner arrived.
In preparation, Santa had the elves wash the sled and bathe all the reindeer. Santa got his logbook out and made sure all his paperwork was in order.
The examiner walked slowly around the sled. He checked the reindeer harnesses, the landing gear, and Rudolf's nose. He painstakingly reviewed Santa's weight and balance calculations for the sled's enormous payload.
Finally, they were ready for the checkride. Santa got in,fastened his seatbelt and shoulder harness, and checked the compass. Then the examiner hopped in carrying, to Santa's surprise, a shotgun.
"What's that for?" asked Santa incredulously.
The examiner winked and said, "I'm not supposed to tell you this, but you're gonna lose an engine on takeoff."
I know it seems a little doom and gloom but I really thought that Fireworks would vanish, or be sucked into Photoshop in some mad scientific merging project. The one reason I liked Fireworks so much is the ease of use. When I got into developing web application it was obvious you needed to have some graphic skill and at that point Fireworks 4 was out. So I jumped in and ever-so-easily created gifs and jpgs, then animated gifs, and then banner-ads for then employer, WooHoo! they were good times :o)
With that in mind its good to hear version 9 is coming out, especially as there are no Universial Binaries for the Mac which means that FWMX is pretty clunky and slow even with 2GB of memory. Not only that Adobe are opening the Betas so if you haven't heard already, then get over there and sign-up.
Macromedia's Studio 8 is ready for trial downloads now, after announcing a release date for the end of September.
Prices should cost £699, or £299 for an upgrade. Or as individual products
Alan Musselman has just blogged an DWMX04 easter egg
All you have to do is:
In the Property Inspector, locate the Text Color Input box and type "Dreamweaver". You should see a little DW rune that starts to fly around the screen, but wait!! Move the mouse up and down to move the paddle on the left and hit the run back to the other side.
I was going through some CD's from way back and found a copy of CF 4.5.2. WOW, I gave it a little load just to see the old the screen - Click here to reminisce in 800x553px.
Just to remind you, CF 4.5.2:

The DMXZone.com is asking Will you be upgrading (or buying) Macromedia Studio MX2006 ?.
Two of the possible six answers are
Personally i'm probably going to be asking those above to upgrade straight away. Why? Mainly because the merger isnt going to even happen for about another 8 months, on top of that Adobe aren't gonna just pull/not support these products for another year. Its going to take a little time while they combine software packages etc.
